Chocolate by the Bald Man

Now, this is a bittersweet moment for me. This post is not only another scrumptious restaurant, but it is also my last required post signifying that I will be home before the week is done and that I don't technically have to continue these posts. Although I am extremely eager to go home, I've realized that I'll be going a month without a new restaurant adventure in what is technically considered my new home. Wait a minute? Did you guys really think I could go a whole month without checking out enticing new dishes? Psh! I've been making my list to go and check out the LA food scene now! I haven't quite decided if I will continue my blog...it's actually been great having an excuse to constantly go to a new restaurant all the time and it's been a great way to document them so I can decide what kind of food I am looking for. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to see...let's continue with the post.

A Perfect Marriage: Qi & Bouchon

So, I know this post is a little bit late but I hadn't eaten at any restaurants that were particularly cute or delicious because of upcoming finals and work. However, I have had plans to meet up with my aunt, before I left for winter break, and so I decided to wait and write a blog on the newest restaurant that she would introduce me to. I'm so glad I decided to wait, because I want to tell every single person about Qi, and if they already know of this Thai Heaven, then I want to relive every delicious moment with them!

Now we can't forget about Forest Hills...

Only fifteen minutes by bus and then two stops on the E/F train is 71st Street, Forest Hills. My aunt, yes the same one who has taken me to around half of the restaurants I've blogged about, lives in Forest Hills and was surprised when my friend and I had said we had never walked around Austin Street yet. Austin Street is like the shopping and restaurant main street of Forest Hills, which my aunt knew we would love.

Fall in the City

Since the trees at school have started changing colors, my friend and I figured that it would be a perfect time to see the start of the Autumn season in Central Park. Since we're both from Southern California, we obviously still get the different seasons, but we wanted to really see and experience the change (and not just in terms of the weather). We met up with my aunt, who decided to take us around for some sight seeing and shopping before lunch at The Central Park Boathouse.

Jai Ho to Baluchis!

Since me and my friends are planning on going to the Village for the Annual Halloween Parade, I realized that there is a restaurant that I had eaten at in the Financial District on the night of Fashion's Night Out, back on September 8th. For all those people out there that are hesitant to try new or especially exotic food, I urge you to definitely go out and take someone who is maybe a bit more adventurous or at least knows a basis of the ethnic food, so they can order easy starter dishes for you.

Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, anyone?

The definition of serendipity (according to dictionary.com) is an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident. Serendipity 3 truly lives up to that definition. Now, although Serendipity is a quite a famous and popular restaurant already, there are reviews everywhere and there are probably quite a few of you who have even been there already. I, however, had my first lunch there this past Saturday. Serendipity was definitely on my To Do List of things and place to go to in NY and I'm so glad I did.

College Budget?

Due to midterms and a difficult work schedule, the only restaurant that I was able to eat were one's that were either by school or near/in the mall. So, I decided to make this blog post all about restaurants near campus that I have eaten at or have had delivered. The good thing about these restaurants it that they are all pretty budget-friendly and for the most part I was very satisfied with my meal. Take a break from Monty's...you know you want to!

Pixie Dust? Fairy Dust? Nope, it's Ellen's Stardust!

Ellen's Stardust Diner (the website is currently undergoing renovations, and although you should definitely check it out they do have a Facebook page for the time being) was an adorable restaurant and I had a smile on my face  the entire time I was in there. This also happens to be the restaurant that I had mentioned in my "John Really Knows His Pizza" blog that I ate dessert at and promised to write about, so hear we go.

Kimchi, Please!

Our next destination on our food travels around the world, is Muk Eun Ji Korean Restaurant. Located on West 32nd St. and Broadway in the heart of Korea Town, you will be grateful for all the walking you can potentially do (and should do) because you will eat enough to last into the next day. This was a restaurant that my friend and her family had gone to the last time she was in the city and she took me so I could be made aware of it's deliciousness. If you can't tell by the picture, we ordered quite a feast for just the two of us. We had bulgogi (marinated thin sliced Prime Rib Eye), spicy tofu and vegetable soup, a steamed egg dish (on the house), rice, and many little plates of different kimchis and vegetables that are included with the meals. Everything was extremely tasty and there is even an option of grilling your own meat (it is prepared in the back and the grill is in the table). The only difficulty of this restaurant is not knowing what the names are and what is actually in the dish. It is best if you: do your research online and figure out, more or less, what you want to eat; bring a friend who can order for you; or just be adventurous and try guessing and ordering from the pictures on the menu! Enjoy!

John Really Knows His Pizza!

In case it isn't obvious with the background and the blog's name, I LOVE food. I tend to switch the saying of "Eat to Live" to "Live to Eat" because it just fits me better. I've decided to write about a different restaurant in each blog, and since I'm living in NY now, it will only be on places to eat in the area, since you may want to try one of these amazing places.

ME

Why SJU?
1. I applied because I recieved a free application and my mom kept going on and on that it was a good school, and I need to apply everywhere, blahblahblah...
2. It's in NY and being born and raised in SoCal, and I love trying new things and this seemed like a good change. (This cancels out the "Why NY?" question.)
3. It's right by the city and I absolutely loved that.
