Jai Ho to Baluchis!

Since me and my friends are planning on going to the Village for the Annual Halloween Parade, I realized that there is a restaurant that I had eaten at in the Financial District on the night of Fashion's Night Out, back on September 8th. For all those people out there that are hesitant to try new or especially exotic food, I urge you to definitely go out and take someone who is maybe a bit more adventurous or at least knows a basis of the ethnic food, so they can order easy starter dishes for you.

So, once you've grabbed your food buddy/expert, head over to one of Baluchi's 11 locations in NY. The Baluchi's that I have eaten at, on 275 Greenwich St., is a warm, beautifully decorated restaurant that we had smelled up the block and literally followed our noses in.

Although I have eaten Indian food many times, I am not very familiar with the names of the dishes except for the very popular, standard dishes. Thankfully, one of my friend's has a little Indian in her and she was able to order for us. Our group of four split an appetizer of Samosas, a stuffed pastry with potatoes, peas, and chick peas, that came with two dipping sauces and we ordered a mango chutney on the side (and got another dish on the house since we were raving about them), an entree of Chicken Tikka Masala, a curry dish of roasted chunks of chicken in a tomato and cream sauce, with Basmati Rice, and a couple baskets of plain Paratha, pan-fried whole wheat flat bread. I'm getting hungry just thinking about all of this food. It was delicious! This restaurant is a perfect place to take friends, family, for a date, or just to have delivered so you can eat amazing Indian food in the comfort of your own home. Baluchi's is an absolute must!
