John Really Knows His Pizza!

In case it isn't obvious with the background and the blog's name, I LOVE food. I tend to switch the saying of "Eat to Live" to "Live to Eat" because it just fits me better. I've decided to write about a different restaurant in each blog, and since I'm living in NY now, it will only be on places to eat in the area, since you may want to try one of these amazing places.
So, my first restaurant is going to be John's Pizzeria. When I first got here, all I would talk about is how I needed to try that famous, delicious, NY, thin crust pizza and although it wasn't the first pizza place I went to (I ate a calzone my second night here) this place was truly...magical. John's is located in Times Square and is actually a renovated church. It's a decent size restaurant, has a beautiful stained glass piece in the ceiling (I took a picture on my phone), and they cook their pizzas to order in giant brick ovens that are out with the diners.

My mom's friend ordered for our party of three: Fried Calamari as an appetizer and a large pizza, half was the "John's Traditional" with peppers and the other half was "Margherita" with mushrooms. DELICIOUS! We left stuffed and other than a small dessert (at another great restaurant I'll probably mention in a post) and a small cup of soup each, around 1:30 AM (after our Broadway show), we had no desire to eat anything else. This place is an absolute must! It's supposed to get ridiculously packed for lunch and dinner time (we fortunately made it during their down time) so if they accept reservations, that would probably be a good idea.
